While Fred was on his mission in Switzerland and Germany, Minerva Kohlhepp (Teichert) claimed she sent him a sketch(es) of his son Viva (Survivor). I located this sketch at the BYU Museum of Art Collection of Minerva Teichert's work. This sketch, or something like it, could be much like the one she sent Fred. It is difficult to read the note on the bottom. It says something like "A rough sketch of Viva[,] little ex[?????] baby with [. . . bottom line illegible]." Anyway, it is obviously an early sketch for Minerva, and Viva is very young in it. Viva was born in 1903, Fred went on his mission in September 1905 and returned in August 1907. It is hard to tell Viva's exact age from this sketch, but he does appear to be 3-4 years old, which would be when Fred was on his mission.
